Today, I want to make an official announcement to my dear friends and supporters from the Chinese community and the broader Australian community. I will be contesting this upcoming federal election for the Seat of Bradfield as an Independent Candidate.

This Albanese Labor government has proven itself to be incompetent and disastrous for everyday Australians and our economy. But unfortunately, the Liberal Party does not seem to be the answer either. This morning, I tendered my resignation to the Liberal Party after 11 years. This certainly wasn’t a decision I made lightly.

I am proud to be a Chinese-Australian. I want to give back to this nation that has afforded me so much. Thank you, Australia, for giving me the opportunity to pursue an education I wouldn’t have had elsewhere. Thank you, Australia, for allowing me and my family to achieve our aspirations through hard work and commitment.

Bradfield is a community made up of Australians who understand the importance of family, business and enterprise, and quality education for future generations. For far too long, Australians have been let down by governments on both sides of politics. I believe it is time for change and to make a real difference.

I will fight for a united Australia, built on common goals and values. I believe that every Australian deserves equal opportunity, regardless of where they come from or how long they’ve been here.
